Signing Hands Outreach

   Katheryne Mitchell, owner of SIGNING HANDS OUTREACH, has her certification in American Sign Language and is an Independent Certified Baby Signs® Instructor for the Northeast Valley of Mesa Arizona.  She is also the leading Certified Kids Love to Sign® Instructor.  Now, as the ASL Advisor and Program Specialist for the Kids Love to Sign® Program, Katheryne is passionately training new instructors nationwide and in Canada who are representing the KL2S program.  Katheryne is Co-Founder of the Signing Scouts Program.  It was Katheryne's vision that has paved the way to reach the scouts across America to teach basic signs of American Sign Language to them with the Signing Scouts Program.  With the help of Jenny, Founder of Kids Love to Sign®, and the many KL2S Certified Instructors nationwide now teaching the Signing Scouts Program, her vision has come to life!

A mother of two fantastic teenage children; a son and a daughter.  Katheryne homeschooled her daughter for a year while using American Sign Language in her academics.  The benefits of using ASL were phenomenal with her daughter's comprehension and communication skills.  Both of her children are learning American Sign Language in high school as a second language.  They are most definitely a SIGNING FAMILY!

Besides her faith in GOD and her dedication to her own two children, she is as devoted to families and their children in the community reaching out to communicate with Signing Hands. The rewards she experiences are beyond expression.  Katheryne's work experience involves working with deaf children and special needs children (Autism).  She has spent over eight years volunteering and or working in the Mesa Public School District.  She also offers one on one tutoring with basic sign language to families for that extra support.  She is thrilled to be representing the Baby Signs Institute® and Kids Love To Sign® and is blessed to enrich the lives of parents/caregivers and babies/children with the benefits of basic sign language.
